After spending about an hour at Sinhagad,we left for Lavasa..This was the my more favourite part of the trip..Lavasa is Free India’s first hilltown..Located among 8 hillocks, behind the Varasgaon Dam and at a distance of 42 km from Pune, this town was not supposed to be developed in the first place because some environmental law in the constitution abides any construction activity here..But politicians like Sharad Pawar have started converting this area in to a township already…making lots of money in the process..(info obatined to hear say)..
Anyway, the 42 km journey to Lavasa was just mindblowing..the road was in an excellent condition, and it went on winding among the hills right from the beginning till we reached the place..clouds had started gathering and it all made for a very good road trip(car trip)..i love driving cars and riding bikes..and the to n fro journey was more enjoyable..As of now, there’s nothing to see at Lavasa..except of course, you like non specific bhatkofying(roaming around) on the roads(which is what im good at..)..there’s a lot of civil engineering at work..I m sure the residents of Lavasa aer going to have a gala time..its a beautiful place..chic and green..got a few shots here n there and returned home…

  1. Hey ya… I must say that you have become an awesome photographer with a very keen eye.. keep going
And awesome ride… this is what you drove around to sinhagad and Lavasa? Beautiful

  2. The Dam partially complete is the TEMGAR Dam and not the Varasgaon Dam. Downstreanm of the Dam is a beautiful rustic village called Lavarde.

    1. hey thanks a lot for the correction..i was confused as to the name of the dam as it was called temghar as well as varasgaon variously on whatever literature and photos i could find about Lavasa..thanks for clearing the ambiguity…

  3. Nice pics (esp Raigad) and a good blog. I just came across it googling for pune bloggers. I wish I had trekked while I was in Pune!
